Possible Pathways for Acceleration - Moving Away from the Sequence
At the end of the year, we reassess students’ abilities and performance. At that time, we make the decision on math placement for the following school year. All students are placed where they will receive the best instruction for their needs.
Please note that the criteria for acceleration require that students will function at the top of the grade level that they will be accelerated into. These students should not require additional support to function in the accelerated classroom.

Please Note: Students must take a full year of in-school instruction in Algebra. Similarly, we do not permit students to skip a full year of instruction in Geometry in middle school. Only rising 9th grade students are eligible to take Geometry in the summer.
